Right now I’m filled with joy, as well as anger, fear, confusion, and a bit of malaise. For starters, I would like to thank Mr. Jeff Rowland for posting my fan art on his site, as well seeing fit to link me in his news post. Hopefully, this will lead to a boost in comic-readerness, though temporary it may be.

I am also looking forward to gorging myself tomorrow, both with food and alcoholic beverages, as is the tradition of my native people.

On the other hand, it looks like my 2-year old laptop computer, which I had thought was working properly, decided to stop functioning entirely. Apparently Compaq designs the little power-socket in the back so that it works fine, unless you want to occasionally unplug the cord. I was under the impression that one would theoretically design the power-input-hole of a laptop in such a fashion as to facilitate fairly regular plugging and un-plugging, seeing as it’s a fucking portable computer… but what do I know. Fortunately for me, it only costs about 200 bucks to fix, which works for me, because I just happen to have negative 400 bucks to spend on stupid shit like that. Dammit.

So, here I am again in the Texas A&M University student computing center; an oddly designed building that consists of one giant room with endless rows of computers stretching off over the horizon, reminding me of the human pod-farm in The Matrix. Interestingly enough, the right half of this room consists of bland white walls with the occasional white pillar or fluorescent light, while the left half seems to be made of bomb-shelter grade cinderblocks with glowing spherical orbs providing dim illumination. To add to the confusion, the wall doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling, and has a series of cast iron grates cantilevered out about eight feet from the wall, which are supported by some ominous black iron I-beams with pointy spikes on the ends. It’s almost as if the computer lab is slowly transforming into some sort of post-modern expressionist gothic cathedral… either that or I got lost on the way to campus and I’m now on Geidi Prime: home of the insidious Baron Harkonnen.

At any rate, you can still expect to see regular updates… I plan on going as long as possible without getting off my schedule, and I won’t let little things like not having a computer, or catching avian flu stop me! I think the previous record for updating my old comic was two weeks (and this was a once-a-week comic), so it would seem I’m in pretty good shape, so far. Wish me luck.
