Gazing happily at my sons’ website, whole days go by when I am enraptured by their intelligence, their wit, their gentle wisdom, and think to myself, “Their father and I did that! I’ll never forget the day they told me they had a website. “Oh!” I exclaimed, clasping my hands to my heart. “Tell me where! I’ll bookmark it and look at it every day!” At last, all those years of staring, zombie-like, into cathode-ray tube screens while manipulating clickers, keyboards and joysticks had paid off. Perhaps they were computer geniuses, like their friend Cameron, another screen-zombie who, at 23, works for Boeing as a computer guy and is making a shit-load of money.
How thrilling, then to be sent to http://www.sfheart.com/peace.html, otherwise known as the “Peace and Love” website! To think that my very own boys endeavor to keep such a site going! Imagine my chest-bursting pride when I read “The Hundredth Monkey,” an inspirational piece about how pulling together can change the world! And the site even provides excerpts from the works of Kahlil Gibran, including this one; “Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide? And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech?” |
